What are the best lining fabrics? Silk, viscose and rayon are generally considered to be the best choices. However, there are other good lining fabrics, such as cotton and polyester, depending on the specific type of clothing you're making. For example, if you're making a summer dress, cotton might be a better choice than silk, as it's more breathable.
